Every once in awhile, there’s a blog post about cats that turns your head. This week is no exception as we look at Eddie Deezen’s post John Lennon was a crazy cat lady, at one point owning up to ten.

I take no credit for finding this except through scurging through the web to find interesting cat news to share with my readers. One of Lennon’s first cats, actually owned by his mother, was named Elvis, after Elvis Presley. It appears Lennon was a real Elvis fan.

On Mental Floss, Deezan talks about Lennon finding a stray cat in the snow which his aunt allowed him to keep. Tim supposedly became a favorite to the famous rockstar. Living to be 20, While traveling worldwide, Lennon would call to check on how Tim, who lived to be 20, was doing. Lennon and his wife, Cynthia, and later Yoko Ono, also owned cats. As an artist, Deezan points out he did many sketches of his cats.

What better life for a cat than sharing it with one of the world’s most famous musicians? Just Imagine………

See, I knew there was something about John Lennon that I liked. A cat lover. Well, he couldn’t be all that bad. Maybe his cats played a part in inspiring to write the music he wrote. That’s a thought. 🙂

As one of the earth’s creatures, cats deserve better than this treatment. How can people do this to an animal. I’ve been most upset – a house burned to the ground this week and 2 cats have not been found yet. the other pets and all the family members are fine. But I worry for the cats.
