Social media, blog hops, twitter pawties, all new to me, but it’s time to jump in with all four paws?
So here goes. I just signed up for Coke The Cat’s Thursday blog hop. I put in underneath Alley Cat Allies as one of Paws for Reflection widgets. Let’s see how it works? Seems like we all spend a lot of time trying to make things works the way we hope they will (especially on the net). Yeah, haw – I just previewed it and it worked.
Now what exactly is a blog hop. It is a linky list that is shared on multiple blogs. When several blogs put the same linky list code on their blog, the exact same list appears on each blog.
Blog visitors can submit their entries on any blog that contains the list. The entries will appear on each blog where the list resides. Blog readers see the same list on each blog, and can “HOP” from blog to blog seeing the same list of links to follow: BLOG HOP!
Sounds like a great way to cross market and get better known on the blogosphere universe, so feet first, so mom and me, just dove in.
I signed up for Thankful Thursdays because we all should take Paws for Reflection and note the many things we are thankful for. Today, I’m thankful for coming across this blog hop, with an opportunity to learn something new. I’m also thankful to hear about Cokie the Cat: Hollywood Insider: Bohemian mancat blogging from his Hollywood apartment. Now I’m a bit jealous of him having an insider’s view. Because in rural New England we are a bit on the outer side of cool southern California.
While I didn’t have a chance to actually interview Cokie, I did visit his website which told me a little bit of info about him. His mom Kristen Dewey who says “her awesome, happy, talkative, (incontinent),opinionated, active 18 year old Ragdoll cat named Cokie. She and her boyfriend have had him for 17 years and according to Cokie’s website, they adore him. Soon after coming to live with them, Coke got stuck in an 80 foot palm tree. “After three days, he jumped, and was OK, but the Vet said he’d have arthritis and possible degenerative spine damage somewhere down the line, which he does. He’s a little sore now and then. He walks a little funny – tends to lead with his right hip, and he has no feeling in his tail. And he wears pants.” For more on Cokie, visit his website.
I’d say Cokie has lots to be thankful for, especially having such wonderful caring parents. When my sis was real young, she got stock in an equally tall pine tree. Mum worried so much that after day two, she hired a tree climber to come rescue her. The tallest she goes now is to the kitchen counters for a cold drink of water.
At Paws, we have lots to be thankful for as well, and try to start each day thanking our lucky ‘paws’ for having a great home. Rumor has it, we’re getting a new sibling, Baby Lilly, who turns out to be a Billy. Still too little to be neutered at 1.1 pounds.
We’re also thankful for the sun, the summer, the blue skies, the flowers, and fresh air, and endlessly more.
Come to think of it, we’re thankful for BlogPaws, an online community of pet people that introduced Paws for Reflection to the blog hop.
