Wordless Wednesday: Kitty meets new friends
This kitty has never met a chicken before, so when the neighbor’s chickens came over for a visit, he had a chance to meet them, up close, and personal. While the other cats tended to shy away from these strange creatures, Paws had to check them out.
He, and the other felines of the household, also like to sit in the window and watch the birds. Here, he checks out this Downey Woodpecker, who is not a common frequenter to our backyard bird feeders.
Has your cat ever encountered an unusual new friend? Do your cats like to sit in the window and watch the outside world, whether it be birds, or just sunshine? Please weigh in on the discussion and share your stories.

Great photos! My cats would be thrilled to see chickens up close like that. They love to sit on my balcony and watch the ducks, seagulls, swans, and geese that visit the lake below.
It’s pretty unbelievable. These are what you really call free roaming chickens.
Very sweet! Thank you for sharing :). my kitties, (all indoor) love to look out on the deck and watch the birds. We have several feeders which i fill in the cold months, also, squirrels come by, and even leaves blowing are entertainment for them, the best time is on a pretty day, with the door open, screen closed, and all three will get as close as possible to the screen, to feel the fresh air, and listen to the birds.
They love to snff the fresh air. I can just picture them all gathering up by the screen.
Our angel brother, MacKenzie, once brought home a very strange friend. He was at the backdoor asking to come in. When our mom opened the door, he was standing of the other side of the screen next to a possum. They both were peering inside and asking to come in the house! That’s too funny. I can just picture the kitty and the possum.
Paws looks very interested in those chickens. My cats love to sit in the window waiting to talk to the birds in the trees or a dog walking by. The most unusual animal they’ve met was a bunny that hopped up to our patio.
It’s interesting to see how the kitties react to various visitors.
Wow! That is even BETTER than Bird TV!
They seem to enjoy! Nothing like a little chance of scenery to keep the kitties entertained.
