Even though our cats have moved into our hearts and families, they are not little people. They are cats. Years ago, they learned to use the giant sand box of the Sahara Desert to do their ‘business’. They still like a litter box texture that’s just like that fine sand. That’s why community cats just love kids’ sand boxes as litter boxes.

Every multi-cat owner should have one box for every cat, plus one. Additionally, the litter boxes should not be stowed away in the basement or garage. They should be strategically placed throughout the house where kitty can easily access them. An older arthritic cat may not be able to make it to the basement without a lot of pain.

Not all cats like the same type of litter

Not all cats like the same type of litter, and it might take some experimenting to find what your cats like best.

A bully, also, can be a real problem, and the more boxes allow the kitty being bullied to be able to find a litter box without getting ambushed when going in or out of the box. How do you tell which cat is doing the bullying? That where being an investigator can pay off.

How do you know if it could be a health issue? Again being an investigator and observing your kitty can help out.

Paws was amazed to find some of our fav products mentioned in her book. We found very good reviews for Cat Stop cat litter, and Critter Zone a kitty air filter, both of which we have written about in previous blog posts. Here are the links to those articles:
